Unforgettable 4H Camp Wedding in South Lake Tahoe

This 4H Camp wedding in South Lake Tahoe was truly a standout event. Located next to Edgewood, this campground offers everything you need for a memorable wedding weekend with your loved ones. The grounds feature cozy, rustic cabins that provide charming lodging options. The camp is packed with amenities, including a 150-person firepit, a private sandy beach, a 166-person dining hall, horseshoe pits, ping pong tables, a 150-person amphitheater, and a private pier. You can even rent kayaks and canoes for added fun. Find more details about renting this amazing camp here.

I first met Faith and Andrew during their engagement session, which they had meticulously planned. They introduced me to their favorite spots, which have since become popular choices for other couples. Their connection was instantly apparent; they interacted effortlessly, making the experience feel like spending time with old friends. Check out their South Lake Tahoe engagement session here.

The day began at Edgewood Resort, where Faith prepared for her wedding with her bridesmaids and mom. We captured all the beautiful details, Faith enjoyed a champagne toast with friends, and shared a special moment with her mom. We then headed to 4H Camp for Faith and Andrew’s first look. Under the Jeffrey Pines, they had a private moment before the ceremony. As the wind picked up, we quickly moved to the beach for portraits before the weather worsened. Although the lakeside ceremony was the initial plan, it was moved to the amphitheater due to the weather. We took a few more photos on the dock and wrapped up with wedding and family portraits just before the rain began.

As the ceremony approached, Faith had thoughtfully arranged clear umbrellas for all the guests. The August day turned chilly with wind and rain. As Faith walked down the aisle, a dramatic thunderstorm broke out as she reached Andrew. Despite the weather, Faith and Andrew remained completely focused on each other and their heartfelt vows, showcasing their deep love and commitment. Guests and the couple dashed through the rain to the cocktail hour, where they enjoyed a brief respite, and Faith and Andrew were able to greet their guests warmly. The rain intensified, but things calmed down enough for their first dance and heartfelt toasts from parents and friends. These moments, filled with deep emotions and connections, are always my favorite part of the day.

We nearly missed out on portraits due to the weather, but a brief break at golden hour allowed us to capture some truly magical moments. Andrew sped us in the golf cart to make it just in time for my favorite portraits of the day. When the next storm hit, we moved inside for parent dances and a lively dance party. I can’t express enough how incredible it is to connect with couples like Faith and Andrew. I’m so grateful to have met these two amazing people. My heart is full!

SHALL WE MEET?

HI FRIENDS

I’m Kirsten—a wedding photographer here to guide you through this wildly exciting time…and toward the best lighting.

Ever since my days in the highschool darkroom, I’ve been enamored with the power images have to tell a compelling story. I went on to study photography and fashion at Savannah College of Art & Design and worked as an editor for a studio before founding Kirsten Marie Photography in 2012. Every day since, and I’ve fallen deeper in love with the art of wedding photography—there’s just nothing quite as fascinating and fulfilling as documenting the tenderness weddings bring out in people.

As someone who’s fairly spotlight-shy, I know how awkward being photographed can feel—which is why I work to bring an atmosphere of ease (and a wicked sharp sense of humor) to our time together. I pour my whole heart into hyping you up, getting you the material you deserve, and making sure you feel comfortable and cared for.

Beyond the lens, I’m a mom to two feisty girls. Translation: there’s no group I can’t wrangle, no mountain I can’t summit, and no trail I can’t traverse. While you’re soaking in sunsets and sipping champagne—you can find me crawling through bushes and traipsing through snowpack to get the best angle…and loving every single second of it.
