Wow! This day was so special at Valhalla! Its beautiful textures, color palette, linens and florals. But more important than all that was how powerful and palpable the love and connection was between family, Nick and Laura, and all their friends who made the trip to witness their vows in beautiful Lake Tahoe. I cannot wait to share more from this serene wedding day at Valhalla.

Nick and Laura are thoughtful, kind and wonderful listeners. They had flown in to look at Tahoe wedding venues a year back.  We scheduled their engagement session at Zepher Cove.  This was a great opportunity to get acquainted and talk about everything and anything.  I’m not great at small talk and rather just dive into the bigger picture and really get to the core of people, so its. always  fun and inspiring when couples open up.  I left their session feeling so excited for their upcoming nuptials.

Laura and Nick really brought home the why weddings are so joyful and purposeful.  Watching them and their families made me reflect on those I love and those I’ve lost.  Their authenticity and vulnerability was such a touching thing to witness. These two are a beautiful match for each other.  From the moment we arrived I was literally taken into  a heartfelt teary embrace.  Everyone made us feel so welcomed and appreciated.  Nick and Laura you really are something special.  I am so happy to have gotten to know you and I’m sure our paths will cross again in the future. Now check out this serene wedding day at Valhalla.

SHALL WE MEET?

HI FRIENDS

I’m Kirsten—a wedding photographer here to guide you through this wildly exciting time…and toward the best lighting.

Ever since my days in the highschool darkroom, I’ve been enamored with the power images have to tell a compelling story. I went on to study photography and fashion at Savannah College of Art & Design and worked as an editor for a studio before founding Kirsten Marie Photography in 2012. Every day since, and I’ve fallen deeper in love with the art of wedding photography—there’s just nothing quite as fascinating and fulfilling as documenting the tenderness weddings bring out in people.

As someone who’s fairly spotlight-shy, I know how awkward being photographed can feel—which is why I work to bring an atmosphere of ease (and a wicked sharp sense of humor) to our time together. I pour my whole heart into hyping you up, getting you the material you deserve, and making sure you feel comfortable and cared for.

Beyond the lens, I’m a mom to two feisty girls. Translation: there’s no group I can’t wrangle, no mountain I can’t summit, and no trail I can’t traverse. While you’re soaking in sunsets and sipping champagne—you can find me crawling through bushes and traipsing through snowpack to get the best angle…and loving every single second of it.
