While I always love a good Lake Tahoe extravaganza, this area is one of the best around when it comes to elopements. If you prefer something a little more intimate, we have countless spots where you can get married with an unforgettable view as your backdrop. As a Lake Tahoe wedding photographer, I adore capturing celebrations of all sizes. If you need a legendary spot for your elopement, let me tell you everything you need to know for your Logan Shoals Vista Point wedding

About The Logan Shoals Vista Point Wedding Venue

Lake Shore Blvd, Zephyr Cove, Nevada 89448

If you want a wedding with a view, you are going to love Logan Shoals Vista Point! This area is on the eastern side of Lake Tahoe and gives you one of the best backdrops any time of year. When it’s not being used as a wedding site, it’s a common place for hikers to stop and appreciate Mother Nature’s hard work! Because this site is located in Nevada, there are a few rules that might make it a little different than your standard Lake Tahoe wedding.

To begin with, you will need a Nevada marriage license. To obtain this, you will need to go to the county clerk’s office and complete all the paperwork. While it’s never a bad idea to plan ahead of time, there is no waiting period in Nevada, so you can obtain your license at the start of your wedding week. You will then have one year to get married before the license expires. Once you have the paperwork completed, you will be able to get married anywhere in the state, including Logan Shoals Vista Point. You will only need one witness to make things official. With this spot, it’s a breeze to have your dream elopement!

Details of the Grounds

Logan Shoals Vista Point rests over 300 feet high, giving your wedding one of the clearest looks of Lake Tahoe. As you exchange vows, you will be surrounded by clear blue water, towering mountains, and evergreen trees. No matter the time of day, this spot stands as a breathtaking testament to the natural beauty of the area. It takes on a special kind of magic as the sun begins to set. Slowly, the site is warmed by red and pink hues, and the colors are reflected in the water.

The site is also going to change depending on the time of year. During the colder months, the site is almost always covered with a thick layer of snow, and in summer, it turns green as the grass finally begins to thaw. The best thing about the vista? The area is almost completely secluded, making it a romantic space to write the next chapter of your love story!

The land is maintained by the USDA Forestry Service, causing a few restrictions. Only 20 guests are permitted to be present, and you will not be able to set up any chairs or decorations. It’s just going to be you, your partner, your closest friends, and the wilderness at your feet!

While you can expect a little bit of walking, I promise it’s really nothing too bad. The trail leading to the site is about 0.1 miles long, with a few hills. It’s well-marked, but it’s not paved, which can make it a little difficult to master in heels. I would recommend having some sensible footwear that can handle all the rocks and dirt. The area welcomes pets as long as they’re leashed, so you don’t have to leave your Best Boy behind!

Where To Stay And Reception Options

When it comes to lodging for your wedding weekend at Logan Shoals Vista Point, you will have several options. There are several rentals in Zephyr Cove through companies such as AirBnB and VRBO. With these options, you can bring in your entire wedding party and turn this into the most memorable weekend ever! We have several lodges and ski resorts that put you right in the heart of the Sierra Nevada range. There are also several luxury hotels in the area where you can stay in style!

When it comes to your reception, there are several spots where you can host a reception. The Jesse Reno is a hotel that offers an outdoor patio that you can reserve for feasting and dancing while Harmony Ridge Lodge gives you a rustic indoor and outdoor space for your celebration. You can choose from several local golf courses, or you can book a yacht from Bleu Wave and turn the rest of the night into an exclusive party!

Photography Opportunities

Okay, as a photographer, I want to talk about Logan Shoals Vista Point wedding portrait opportunities because, trust me, there are a ton! Throughout your entire wedding, you can count on tons of natural light cascading down on you and your partner. While there are plenty of trees in the area, the wedding site is fairly unobstructed, so you don’t need to worry about the shade. We’ll get plenty of angles so you can show off the area in its fullest. You will also want to take some candid pics with your wedding party on the way to the site. With these images, you are going to be able to show off your journey! Once your wedding is over, you can continue to hike nearby trails and find those areas that speak to you.

Wedding Details

There are several companies that create packages for your Logan Shoals Vista Point elopement. What you get for your wedding day will just depend on the one you choose.

One of the most popular companies in the area, Alpenglow Weddings, has a package that will include a minister, a consultation with your officiate, the choice between personalized and traditional vows, and a site permit. They offer additional options, including limousine services, bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, and matching boutonnieres. You can also book shuttle services with enough space to hold all 20 people.

If you would prefer, you can book your own services so you can customize every bit of your day. My main tip is that the roads can get a little treacherous as you get closer. If you don’t feel like mastering them yourselves, a shuttle is always a good investment!

SHALL WE MEET?

HI FRIENDS

I’m Kirsten—a wedding photographer here to guide you through this wildly exciting time…and toward the best lighting.

Ever since my days in the highschool darkroom, I’ve been enamored with the power images have to tell a compelling story. I went on to study photography and fashion at Savannah College of Art & Design and worked as an editor for a studio before founding Kirsten Marie Photography in 2012. Every day since, and I’ve fallen deeper in love with the art of wedding photography—there’s just nothing quite as fascinating and fulfilling as documenting the tenderness weddings bring out in people.

As someone who’s fairly spotlight-shy, I know how awkward being photographed can feel—which is why I work to bring an atmosphere of ease (and a wicked sharp sense of humor) to our time together. I pour my whole heart into hyping you up, getting you the material you deserve, and making sure you feel comfortable and cared for.

Beyond the lens, I’m a mom to two feisty girls. Translation: there’s no group I can’t wrangle, no mountain I can’t summit, and no trail I can’t traverse. While you’re soaking in sunsets and sipping champagne—you can find me crawling through bushes and traipsing through snowpack to get the best angle…and loving every single second of it.
